ESG Transparency Research Continues at BEIA GMBH with Regional Teams
A recent meeting was hosted at BEIA GMBH, bringing together experts from various sectors and academic institutions to explore the key factors shaping Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) transparency in both the public and private sectors. The event was organized as part of the STAR project (SUSTAINABILITY TRANSFORMATION: Research And Innovation Network For Quality Information, Better Sustainability Reporting Practices And Business Resilience), which aims to enhance the quality and consistency of sustainability reporting through international collaboration and applied research.
Participants included representatives from the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (UNSTPB), the University of Ruse and the University of Istanbul. This interdisciplinary collaboration with teams from Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey focused on analysing survey items related to the variability in ESG disclosure practices, respondents’ perceptions, and local network dynamics aligned with the research objectives.
In addition to collecting primary data on ESG drivers and barriers, the agenda included a review of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), specifically Set 1 of the ESRS (EU 2023/2772). Participants also reviewed good practices and local trends to support more consistent and transparent ESG reporting across sectors.
This meeting forms part of BEIA’s ongoing commitment to fostering cross-border collaboration and advancing practical approaches to sustainability disclosure. The insights generated will support the alignment of local practices with international reporting standards.
