On 19 February 2026, BEIA were present at an FFG online project meeting, where three innovative Austrian R&D initiatives presented their progress to an audience of 51 participants from research, industry, and public administration.

The session showcased:

  • Vinomon — drone-based monitoring of vineyard diseases (Goldgelbe Vergilbung, Stolbur, ESCA) to reduce crop losses across Austria’s wine-growing regions
  • CropSHIFT — a high-resolution DestinE service leveraging satellite data to identify climate change-induced geographical shifts in ideal growing areas for cash crops (consortium: GeoVille, BOKU, agro innovation lab)
  • BioResCCS — a BECCS approach combining CO₂ capture and storage with energy production from biomass using Chemical Looping Combustion technology (TU Wien, AIT)

The meeting provided valuable insight into Austria’s applied research landscape at the intersection of precision agriculture, climate adaptation, and carbon neutrality.
