BEIA.AT took part in the STAR MSCA Research & Innovation Week 2, hosted by the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” from 7 to 11 September 2026 in Ruse, Bulgaria, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Staff Exchanges project STAR. Rector representatives Irina Kostadinova and Anton Nedyalkov, vice dean of the Business and Management faculty, opened the week, which brought together researchers from partner institutions across Europe for five days of co-teaching sessions, thematic workshops, and fieldwork visits.
The program combined academic exchange with hands-on industry immersion. Participants attended co-teaching sessions and workshops led by Assoc. Prof. Tzvetelin Gueorguiev, Edyta Pietrzak (TUL), Theodora Mihaela Doltu (UNSTPB), Elife Akış (IU), Gloria Ciniero (INFOR), Seydi Ababacar Dieng, and Beatrice Leuștean (UNSTPB). Our colleague Maria Niculae presented “From Data to Sustainability: How AI and IoT Can Support ESG Reporting”, sharing an R&D SME perspective on IoT frameworks and sustainability reporting during her secondment in Ruse.
The week’s fieldwork research visits took participants to ANTOAN VILL, a women’s fashion manufacturer, FAAC Bulgaria in Tutrakan, the Seven Generations Complex, and CITY CARS, an innovative car manufacturer, alongside a tour of the Center of Excellence UNITe and the Scientific Research Complex at the University of Ruse. The program closed with a cultural component, including visits to the Archaeological Complex Tsarevets and the historical center of Veliko Tarnovo.
